7/28/21 - Mike Waldron and I met over the weekend and chose what we believe will be the next five songs we will record for the new project. In the next couple of months, we will hit the studio again to continue recording. Everything is going great. We're just taking our time. I can't wait to share the finished product with you!
7/13/21 - My father-in-law moved to heaven last week after a battle with cancer. Please keep our family, especially my wife Lara, in your prayers.
6/12/21 - Our first day in the studio for the new record! Under the watchful eye of Mike Waldron, we recorded tracks to five songs with Wes Little on drums (Beyonce, Sting, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Robben Ford, Steven Tyler), Matt McKenzie on bass (Don Williams, Olivia Newton-John, Ricky Skaggs, Lyle Lovett, Steve Wariner) and Blair Masters on keys (Garth Brooks, Peter Frampton, Barry Manilow, Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman). Such a fun day!
1/30/21 - Pre-production on the new record is underway. Mike Waldron (my producer) and I are listening to and choosing the songs to record. I am also still writing several new songs that may possibly wind up on the project.

5/20/20 - Thank you so much for your prayers! It has been a slow climb back from COVID-19 but as of today, I am 90% better! So grateful for your love and support.
4/15/20 - I'd be grateful if you'd keep me in your prayers. After a couple days of symptoms, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I'll spend the next few weeks recovering at home. Thank you!

3/6/20 - Had a fun time tonight playing a SOLD OUT show at the world famous Bluebird Cafe with my buddies, Jamie Rowe, Brian White and Marcus Whybrew. Always a treat to play the Bluebird. There is simply no place like it.

8/5/19 - The SOLD OUT show at The Bluebird Cafe was a blast! What a privilege to share the round with Kim Parent, Matt Mason and Kevin Max. The crowd was amazing. And to top things off, 3X Grammy winner, KT Oslin, was in the crowd for the show!

12/31/18 - 2018 was such a fun year! Thanks to all my wonderful co-writer's and to everyone who had me play at their restaurant, theater, writer's room, corporate event, private party or house concert. Can't wait to see what 2019 has in store!
5/22/18 - What a privilege to provide music with my friend, Tonja Rose, over the weekend for St Jude Children's Research Hospital "Evening of Hope" in Atlanta. The donors at the event raised $235,000 for St Jude!
2/15/18 - MY FIRST GOLD RECORD! Found out today that Tim Hicks' 2013 CD "Throw Down" was certified gold in Canada! "Greasy John Deere Cap", a song I wrote with Greg Johnson, is track #10 on that CD. What a privilege!

6/9/17 - Thankful to be the winner of the Nolen's Place Songwriting Competition in Nolensville. Guest judges included Gretchen Wilson, Trent Tomlinson and Kris Lamb, VP of Big Machine Records. I'll be recording a new 5-song acoustic EP in the near future as part of the grand prize package. New music coming soon!

4/18/17 - Thankful to have won this week's song competition at Nolen's Place in Nolensville. Gretchen Wilson was one of the celebrity judges. I will compete in the finals on Friday, June 9. The grand prize winner will receive studio time to record a 5-song acoustic EP.
4/14/17 - Found out today that "How to Bend" from my Winnebago CD is getting airplay on Radio Zsua in Germany!
3/21/17 - Had an absolute blast with Mike Waldron and Marcia Ramirez playing our SOLD-OUT show at DownTowne Listening Room in Cincinnati, Ohio! What a great venue and great crowd.

3/14/16 - Had an amazing time playing a sold-out show at Cincinnati's DownTowne Listening Room with Matt Schneider over the weekend! If you live in the Cincy area, you'll LOVE this cool venue in the heart of down town.
3/4/16 - Grateful to have a cut on the new Lovelocks EP, "Born To Love". I wrote track #7 "Lovely" with these talented ladies. This Canadian duo is destined for big things. Check 'em out!
3/8/16 - My good friend, Joey Feek, went to Heaven last week and was buried today at her farm here in Tennessee. We were friends for at least twelve years and I was privileged to play guitar in her band for two years. As a tribute to her, I have posted a version of "Freebird" on my music page. She, Rory and I arranged this version together and it's the only recording I have of me singing harmony with her. This is the demo version of the song. Joey+Rory recorded it for their first CD. We miss you, Joey.
10/10/15 - Lara and I had a fun time at Joey+Rory's sold-out Farmhouse Concert last night. A wonderful evening of stories, amazing songs and unmovable faith. Honored to have Rory invite me onstage to share one of my songs with their audience. Please pray for Joey and she continues to battle cancer.
8/18/15 - Excited for a week's worth of shows at the historic Barter Theater in Abingdon, VA. "Blind Man's Tale" with Gary Richardson, John thomas Oaks, Marc Imboden, Tony Dingus and Bobby Brennan.
4/16/15 - Had fun today writing in Muscle Shoals, AL with some new friends, including Marty Raybon from the Grammy-winning group, Shenandoah!
3/30/15 - Just returned home from a weekend of House Concerts in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Had a great time seeing some old friends and making some new ones.
2/27/15 - Rob played the world famous Bluebird Cafe with Kim Parent, Marcia Ramirez and Byron Hill.
2/15/15 - Grateful to have a song on the upcoming CD by the 2014 CCMA Discovery Award Winners, The Lovelocks. The song is called "Lovely" and it was co-written with the band. This is my second song these talented ladies have recorded!
